ASCD EVENTS
Hope College ASCD hosts multiple events each year for not only our members but for the students of Hope's Education Department. We have listed some of our highlights below.
Ice Cream Social
We have held multiple Ice Cream Socials for the students of the Education Department to get to know each other a little bit better and learn about ASCD! Who doesn't love ice cream?!
Student Teacher/First Year Teacher Round Robin
We had the opportunity to host a round robin for all education majors to hear first hand experiences of those both in the student teaching program and newly in the field! There were many different areas of the field represented and everyone had a chance to ask great questions about what to expect in the near future!
School Staff Panel
We had a wonderful time hearing from various staff from the area schools. These personnel are the glue that hold the school together and provide a multitude of services to students and teachers! We loved getting their perspective!
Special Olympics Polar Plunge
Some of our leadership team did the plunge on February 21st in 32 degree weather! We raised $1,650 for Special Olympics! We took second place in fund-raising amongst student groups. We even received a trophy! Thank you to all who donated to this wonderful cause... We were definitely "freezin' for a reason!"
